Explorers of Canada Hall of Fame WebQuest
Task:
Your task, as an exhibit assistant with the Explorers of Canada Hall of Fame, is to present an explorer for entrance into the Hall. You will fill out a preference ballot and then be assigned an explorer from the provided list. You will research and create a poster displaying your explorer and his/her contribution to the development of Canada. Then all the exhibit assistants will vote on a variety of awards which will be presented to the explorers posthumously.Process:
Your duties as an exhibit assistant are as follows:1) Research one of the following explorers: John Cabot, Jacques Cartier, Samuel de Champlain, Henry Hudson, Martin Frobisher, Henry Kelsey, Radisson and Groseilliers.
2) Use at least 3 resources.
2) Launch the Inspiration document to view an overall idea of what your project will look like from the perspective of a "flow chart" . Download the Inspiration Document and save it to your file before starting your research. Or use this RESEARCH GUIDE
3) When you have completed your concept map you will work together with another member of the class that has researched the same explorer. Discuss the hardships the explorer faced. Work together to create a diary entry to show the personal hardships encountered by this explorer or a diary entry about your encounter with the natives.
4) Compile all required information and images into a poster. Publisher Template
4) Present your poster with pertinent facts to the other exhibit assistants.
5) Place your explorers' name onto the official time line of the Canadian Explorers Hall of Fame.
6) Help construct the Hall of Fame exhibit.
7) Vote on the Hall of Fame awards.
